Beautiful Wreckage by Ariana D. Den Bleyker

Beautiful Wreckage, a sixteen-poem chapbook dealing with depression and escapism.

Reviews:

"The poems in Beautiful Wreckage are a confrontational and intimate journey into the body and mind that speak from the edge, from a place between life and death. Ariana D. Den Bleyker's visceral imagery comes from the most honest of places that few writers can reach, and her poems are unafraid to face the human condition in its most naked state. Even in the realm of uncertainty, when one feels bound to the earth and its forces of nature, these poems push their way through the fog and bring clarity to human complexities."

~ Samantha Duncan, author of Moon Law and One Never Eats Four

"Ariana D. Den Bleyker's powerful poems explore the creation and destruction of boundaries – those between the present and past self, the physical and spiritual self, the living and deceased self. Beautiful Wreckage exists in a vulnerable space where the poet attends to what she doesn’t know, where she “attempts to build instead of burrow.” Den Bleyker’s lush poems are canvases for her morphing self: one, the self as “infinity of form finding my way/ as evening inside a hand rearing knuckles,” another, “slipping out of creation as fish from bone.” All of us contain a journey, that search to find our meaning in a strange realm of distance and intimacy, where we’re forced to contend with the self: That shadowy world exists in these poems, and Den Bleyker masterfully confronts it."

~ Nicole Rollender, author of Bone of My Bone and Louder Than Everything You Love
